గురువారం ఏప్రిల్ 2న విశాఖపట్నం ఎల్ఐసీ ఆఫీసుల్లో బిగుల్ కార్యకర్తలు లేబర్ కోడ్స్ వ్యతిరేక క్యాంపెయిన్ నిర్వహించారు. లేబర్ కోడ్స్ కి వ్యతిరేకంగా ఫిబ్రవరి 12న సమ్మె జరిగిన తీరును, దాని ప్రభావాన్ని సమీక్షించుకోవాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని కార్మికులకు, ఉద్యోగులకు వివరించారు.
స్వాతంత్ర్యం వచ్చిన తర్వాత భారతదేశంలోని కార్మిక-ఉద్యోగుల హక్కులపై జరుగుతున్న అతిపెద్ద దాడి లేబర్ కోడ్స్ అని ఇప్పటికే అందరికీ అవగాహన ఉంది. కానీ ఇంత పెద్ద దాడికి వ్యతిరేకంగా ఇప్పటికే ముప్పై యేళ్ళుగా విఫలమవుతూ వచ్చిన ఒక్కరోజు సమ్మె ఎత్తుగడనే ప్రయోగించడం తప్పన్నారు. ఈ ఒక్కరోజు సమ్మెకు కార్మికులను, ఉద్యోగులను సమీకరించేందుకు కూడా సరైన ప్రయత్నం జరగలేదన్నారు. రోజంతా కూడా సమ్మె జరగని పరిస్థితి అనేక చోట్ల కనబడింది. కొన్నిచోట్ల లంచ్ అవర్ మీటింగులకి, నల్ల బ్యాడ్జీలు పెట్టుకుని పని చేయడానికి పరిమితమైంది.
ఇప్పటికే విపరీతంగా పెరుగుతున్న ప్రయివేటీకరణ, కాంట్రాక్టీకరణల పట్ల కార్మికులు, ఉద్యోగులు తీవ్రమైన అసంతృప్తితో ఉన్నారు. ఫిబ్రవరి 12న సమ్మె జరిగిన తీరు వారిని మరింత అసంతృప్తిలోకి నెట్టేసింది. ఈ అసంతృప్తి కోపంగా మారడానికి ఎక్కువ సమయం పట్టదు. ఈలోగా కేంద్ర కార్మిక సంఘాలు కనుక పూనుకుని లేబర్ కోడ్లకి వ్యతిరేకంగా ఒక నిర్ణయాత్మక పోరాటానికి సిద్ధం కాకపోతే ఈ సంఘాలను వదిలేసి కార్మికులే పోరాటాలకి సిద్ధం అవుతారు. పానిపట్ నుండి హజీరా వరకు దేశవ్యాప్తంగా అనేక చోట్ల ఇటూవంటి పోరాటాలను చూస్తూనే ఉన్నాము. ఈ పోరాటాలు విజయం సాధించాలంటే కార్మికోద్యమానికి ఒక ప్రత్యామ్నాయ నాయకత్వాన్ని తయారు చేసుకోవాల్సిన అవసరం ఉంది. కార్మికులు, ఉద్యోగులు చేసే అటువంటి ప్రయత్నాలన్నిటికీ మజ్దూర్ బిగుల్ పూర్తి మద్దతునిస్తుందని బిగుల్ కార్యకర్తలు ఎల్ఐసీ కార్మికులు, ఉద్యోగులకు వివరించారు.

On Thursday, April 2, Bigul activists conducted a campaign against the Labour Codes at LIC offices in Visakhapatnam. They explained to workers and employees the need to review how the February 12 strike was carried out and to assess its impact.
It is already widely understood that the Labour Codes represent the biggest attack on the rights of workers and employees in India since independence. However, they pointed out that in the face of such a major attack, relying once again on the tactic of a one-day strike—which has been failing for the past thirty years—is a mistake. They also stated that even adequate efforts were not made to mobilize workers and employees for this one-day strike. In many places, the strike did not last the entire day, and in some areas it was limited to lunch-hour meetings or symbolic actions like wearing black badges while continuing to work.
Workers and employees are already deeply dissatisfied with the rapidly increasing privatization and contractualization. The manner in which the February 12 strike was conducted has pushed them into even greater dissatisfaction. This dissatisfaction could soon turn into anger. If, in the meantime, the central trade unions do not take the initiative and prepare for a decisive struggle against the Labour Codes, workers themselves may abandon the unions and move toward independent struggles. From Panipat to Hazira, we are already witnessing such struggles across the country. If the central trade unions fail to prepare for these struggles, there is a need to build an alternative leadership within the labor movement to ensure their success. Bigul activists informed LIC workers and employees that Mazdoor Bigul fully supports all such efforts undertaken by workers and employees.
