তারিখে, বিগুল মজদুর দলের কর্মীরা দেশজুড়ে গিগ শ্রমিকদের ধর্মঘটের প্রতি সংহতি জানিয়ে এবং মোদি সরকার দ্বারা সদ্য আইনে হিসেবে পাশ হওয়া শ্রমিক-বিরোধী ফ্যাসিস্ট ‘চারটি শ্রম কোড’-এর বিরুদ্ধে কলকাতার কলেজ স্ট্রিট এলাকা, কলকাতা মেডিক্যাল কলেজ ও লালবাজার অঞ্চলে প্রচার অভিযান চালান।Blinkit, Zepto, Zomato, Swiggy, Uber, Ola প্রভৃতি সংস্থার ডেলিভারি কর্মীরা নিম্নলিখিত দাবিসমূহ নিয়ে দেশব্যাপী ধর্মঘটে শামিল হন—
১. প্ল্যাটফর্ম কোম্পানিগুলিকে শ্রম আইনের আওতায় এনে নিয়ন্ত্রণ করা
২. অনিরাপদ “১০ মিনিটে ডেলিভারি” মডেল নিষিদ্ধ করা
৩. ইচ্ছামতো আইডি ব্লক ও জরিমানা বন্ধ করা
৪. ন্যায্য ও স্বচ্ছ মজুরির ব্যবস্থা করা
৫. স্বাস্থ্য, দুর্ঘটনা বিমা ও পেনশনসহ সামাজিক সুরক্ষা
৬. সংগঠিত হওয়া ও যৌথ দরকষাকষির অধিকারের সুরক্ষা
বিগুল মজদুর দলের কর্মীরা তুলে ধরেন যে, নতুন শ্রম কোডে সরকার গিগ প্ল্যাটফর্ম শ্রমিকদের ‘শ্রমিক’ হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি দেয়নি, যাতে প্ল্যাটফর্ম কোম্পানিগুলি ন্যায্য মজুরি ও সামাজিক সুরক্ষা প্রদানের দায়িত্ব থেকে মুক্ত থাকতে পারে। সরকার গিগ শ্রমিকদের সামাজিক সুরক্ষা নিশ্চিত করার নামে একটি কল্যাণ তহবিল গঠনের কথা বলছে। কিন্তু সেই তহবিল কোম্পানিগুলির ওপর কর না বসিয়ে ,সাধারণ মানুষের ওপর কর বসিয়ে গড়ে তোলা হবে।
শুধু গিগ শ্রমিকরাই নন, নতুন চারটি শ্রম কোড কখনও আইনি ভাবে অধিকার বাতিল করে বা কখনও সেগুলিকে কার্যত অকার্যকর করে দিয়ে দেশের ৭০ কোটি শ্রমিক-কর্মচারীর সেই অধিকারগুলিকেও কেড়ে নিয়েছে যেগুলো দীর্ঘদিনের সংগ্রামী শ্রমিক আন্দোলন ও আত্মত্যাগের মাধ্যমে অর্জিত হয়েছিল। এই কোডগুলি পুঁজিপতি শ্রেণিকে আমাদের শ্রমের ফসল অবাধে লুট করার আইনি অধিকার দিয়েছে, চুক্তিভিত্তিক ব্যবস্থাকে আইনি বৈধতা দিয়েছে এবং ‘ফ্লোর-লেভেল মজুরি’ প্রবর্তনের মাধ্যমে ন্যূনতম মজুরিকে বিস্ময়করভাবে কমিয়ে দিয়েছে। মূলত, পুঁজিপতি প্রভুদের নির্দেশে মোদি সরকার আমাদের এবং ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মকে পুঁজিপতি শ্রেণির দাসে পরিণত করার সব বন্দোবস্তই করে ফেলেছে।
কর্মীরা জোর দিয়ে বলেন যে, শ্রম কোডের বিরুদ্ধে লড়াইই হবে শ্রমিক শ্রেণি ও দেশের সমস্ত পরিশ্রমী মানুষের মর্যাদাপূর্ণ জীবনের দীর্ঘ সংগ্রামের সূচনা। তবে তাৎক্ষণিক ভাবে প্রয়োজন—সমস্ত কেন্দ্রীয় ট্রেড ইউনিয়ন গুলি যাদের সংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রে সর্বাধিক সদস্যসংখ্যা রয়েছে তাদের এগিয়ে এসে অনির্দিষ্টকালের সাধারণ ধর্মঘটের ডাক দেওয়া। সংগঠিত ও অসংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রের শ্রমিকদের ঐক্যবদ্ধ অনির্দিষ্টকালের সাধারণ ধর্মঘটই একমাত্র মোদি সরকারকে স্বৈরাচারী কায়দায় পাশ করা চারটি শ্রম কোড প্রত্যাহারে বাধ্য করতে পারে। শ্রমিক শ্রেণির ঐক্যের শক্তি ফ্যাসিস্ট মোদি সরকারকে অনুভব করানোর এটাই সময়।

Activists of Bigul Mazdoor Dasta campaigned in Kolkata’s College Street area, Calcutta Medical College and Lal Bazar in solidarity with the gig workers’ countrywide strike and against the anti-worker fascist ‘Four Labour Codes’ recently enacted as a law by the Modi government.
The delivery workers of Blinkit, Zepto, Zomato, Swiggy, Uber, Ola, etc. went on a countrywide strike with the demands of –
1. Regulation of platform companies under labour laws
2. Ban on unsafe “10-minute delivery” models
3. End to the arbitrary ID blocking and penalties
4. Fair and transparent wages
5. Social security including health, accident insurance, and pension
6. Protection of the right to organise and collective bargain
Activists from Bigul Mazdoor Dasta highlighted how in the labour codes the government has not recognized the gig platform workers as workers so that the platform companies can be freed from the burden of paying them fair wages and social security schemes. The government is boasting that to ensure the social security of gig workers, it will build a welfare fund. But that is going to be done by taxing the common people instead of taxing the companies for that purpose.
Not only the gig workers, the new Four Labor Codes have snatched away the rights of the 70 crore workers and employees of this country which were won through militant working class struggles and sacrifices, by either legally scrapping the rights or rendering them ineffective.
It has given the capitalist class the legal rights to freely loot the fruit of our labour, legalized the contractual system, and took the minimum wage down to astonishing levels by introducing the system of floor-level wage. In essence, the Modi government, at the behest of their capitalist masters, made all the arrangements to transform us and our future generations to slaves of the capitalist class.
The activists emphasized that the battle against labour code will be the beginning of the long battle for a dignified life of the working class and all toiling masses of the country but as an immediate measure, all the central trade unions with the biggest membership in the organized sector will have to come forward and give the call of indefinite general strike. Only the united struggle of the organised and unorganized sector workers with indefinite general strike can make the Modi government revoke the Four Labour Codes which it passed in a dictatorial manner. It is time to make the fascist Modi government feel the power of the unity of the working class.
