బుధవారం, జనవరి 28న మజ్దూర్ బిగుల్ కార్యకర్తలు, విశాఖపట్నంలోని ఐటీ సెజ్ వద్ద నాలుగు కొత్త లేబర్ కోడ్స్ కు వ్యతిరేకంగా ప్రచారం నిర్వహించారు.
స్వతంత్ర భారతదేశంలో కార్మికహక్కులపై జరుగుతున్న దాడి ఈ కొత్త కార్మిక చట్టాలని, వీటిని అత్యంత దృఢ నిశ్చయంతో అడ్డుకోవాలని వివరించారు. కొత్త కార్మిక చట్టాలు కార్మికులకు ఇంతవరకూ లేని హక్కులు ఇస్తాయని సోషల్ మీడియాలో మోదీ ప్రభుత్వం పెయిడ్ క్యాంపెయిన్ చేయిస్తోందని, కానీ వాస్తవాలు అందుకు భిన్నం అని వివరించారు.
జీవితంలో ఏ పనికీ టైమ్ ఉండకపోవడం ఐటీ ఉద్యోగులకు రోజూ అనిపించే విషయం. దీనికి కారణం వారికి నిర్దిష్టమైన పని గంటలు లేకపోవడమే కదా అని బిగుల్ కార్యకర్తలు అన్నప్పుడు ఉద్యోగులు అంగీకరించారు. లేబర్ కోడ్స్ ద్వారా కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం ఈ పరిస్థితిని చట్టబద్ధం చేస్తోందని వారికి వివరించారు. 150 ఏళ్ళ క్రితం గొప్ప త్యాగాల ద్వారా సాధించుకున్న 8 గంటల పని విధానానికి పాతర వేసి, ఓవర్ టైమ్ వేతనమేదీ ఇవ్వకుండా రోజుకి 12 గంటల వరకూ పని చేయించుకోవచ్చని ఈ చట్టాల్లో పొందుపరిచారన్నారు. దేశం కోసం యువత వారానికి డెబ్భై గంటలు పనిచేయాలని ఇన్ఫోసిస్ నారాయణ మూర్తి అనడానికి, కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం కొత్త లేబర్ కోడ్ లలో అటువంటి నిబంధనలు పెట్టడానికి సంబంధం ఉందన్నారు. ప్రభుత్వాలు, మరీ ముఖ్యంగా ఆర్ఎస్ఎస్-బీజేపీ నాయకత్వంలోని కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం, నారాయణమూర్తి వంటి పెట్టుబడిదారుల అవసరాలు తీర్చడానికే నడుస్తున్నాయి అనడానికి వేరే సాక్ష్యాలు అవసరం లేదన్నారు.
యూనియన్లు ఏర్పాటు చేసుకునే హక్కు, సమ్మె చేసే హక్కుపై కూడా ఈ కొత్త కోడ్లు ఆంక్షలు విధిస్తున్నాయని బిగుల్ కార్యకర్తలు వివరించారు. ఈ రకంగా ఈరోజు సరిగ్గా సంఘటితం కాని ఐటీ ఉద్యోగులు భవిష్యత్తులో కూడా సంఘటితం కాలేని స్థితి తీసుకువస్తున్నారన్నారు. కాబట్టి లేబర్ కోడ్లు సంఘటిత కార్మికులు, ఉద్యోగులని మాత్రమే ప్రభావితం చేసేవి కాదని, పొట్టకూటి కోసం పనిచేస్తున్నవారు, ఇకపై పనిచేయబోయే వారందరి సమస్య అని వివరించారు.
ఈ చట్టాలకు వ్యతిరేకంగా సెంట్రల్ ట్రేడ్ యూనియన్లు ఫిబ్రవరి 12న పిలుపిచ్చిన ఒకరోజు సార్వత్రిక సమ్మెను నిరవధిక సమ్మెగా మార్చాలని వారికి విజ్ఞప్తి చేస్తున్నామని, ఈ ప్రయత్నంలో ఐటీ ఉద్యోగులు కూడా భాగం కావాలని పిలుపునిచ్చారు. సాధ్యమైనన్ని రూపాలలో లేబర్ కోడ్స్ వ్యతిరేక పోరాటానికి మద్దతు పలకాలని విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు.

On Wednesday, January 28, Mazdoor Bigul activists carried out a campaign against the four new labour codes at the IT SEZ in Visakhapatnam.
They explained to the IT employees working there that these new labour codes constitute an unprecedented attack on workers’ rights in independent India and must be opposed with the utmost determination. They pointed out that the Modi government is running paid social media campaigns claiming that the new labour laws provide workers with rights they never had before, but that the reality is quite the opposite.
IT employees often feel that they have no time for anything in life. When Bigul activists said that this is because they do not have clearly defined working hours, the employees agreed. The activists explained that through the labour codes, the central government is legalising this very situation. They said that the laws bury the eight-hour workday that was won through great sacrifices 150 years ago, and instead allow employers to make workers work up to 12 hours a day without paying any overtime wages. They added that there is a clear connection between Infosys founder Narayana Murthy’s statement that youth should work 70 hours a week for the country and the central government inserting such provisions into the new labour codes. They said no further proof is needed to show that governments, especially the central government led by the RSS–BJP, exist to serve the interests of capitalists like Narayana Murthy.
Bigul activists also explained that the new codes impose restrictions on the right to form unions and the right to strike. In this way, they said, these laws are ensuring that IT employees, who are not properly organised today, will remain unorganised in the future as well. Therefore, they clarified that the labour codes do not affect only organised workers and employees, but are an issue for everyone who works to earn a living and for all those who will be a part of the workforce in the future.
They informed them that central trade unions have called for a one-day nationwide strike on February 12 against these laws, and that Mazdoor Bigul is appealing to them to turn it into an indefinite strike. They called upon IT employees to be part of this effort and appealed for support to the struggle against the labour codes in all possible forms.
