గురువారం జనవరి 30 తేదీన విజయవాడలోని పండిట్ నెహ్రు బస్టాండ్ వద్ద ఉన్న ఆర్టీసీ ఉద్యోగుల మధ్య మజ్దూర్ బిగుల్ కార్యకర్తలు కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం తీసుకొచ్చిన నాలుగు లేబర్ కోడ్లకు వ్యతిరేకంగా ప్రచారం నిర్వహించారు.
ఈ నేపథ్యంలో ఈ నాలుగు లేబర్ కోడ్లు ప్రవేశ పెట్టడం వెనుక మోడీ ప్రభుత్వ ఉద్దేశం గురించి కార్యకర్తలు వివరించారు. పెట్టుబడిదారులు తమ ఇష్టం వచ్చినట్టు కార్మికులను దోచుకునే అధికారానికి చట్టబద్ధత కల్పించడం, ‘కార్మికులు-ఉద్యోగులకు మిగిలి ఉన్న కొద్దిపాటి హక్కులను కూడా అంతం చేయడం ఈ కోడ్ల ఉద్దేశమని అన్నారు.
ఆర్టీసీ ఉద్యోగులు వారు ఎదురుకుంటున్న సమస్యలను వ్యక్తం చేశారు. ప్రభుత్వ ఉద్యోగం వస్తే కుటుంబానికి భద్రత ఉంటుంది అని ఎంతో కష్టపడి చదువుకుంటే కాంట్రాక్టు ఉద్యోగం వచ్చిందని అనేక సంవత్సరాలుగా ఉద్యోగం చేస్తున్నా తగిన వేతనం, ప్రమోషన్లు లేవని, అంతకంతకూ పనిభారం మాత్రం పెరుగుతుందని ఒక ఉద్యోగి ఆవేదన వ్యక్తం చేశారు. పోరాటాలు చేసినా ప్రభుత్వాలు పట్టించుకోవడం లేదని, అందుకనే ప్రాక్టికల్ గా ఆలోచించి యూనియన్లలో చేరడం లేదని మరొక ఉద్యోగి అన్నారు. యూనియన్లలో చేరి సమస్యలపై పోరాడితే ఫలితం ఉంటుందనే విశ్వాసం, చైతన్యం లేదని పలువురు నిరాశ వ్యక్తం చేశారు.
నేడు పరిస్థితులు అత్యంత నిరాశాజనకంగా ఉన్న మాట నిజమేనని, కానీ ఉద్యోగులు, కార్మికులు ఐక్యంగా, సమరశీలంగా పోరాడడం మినహా మన సమస్యల పరిష్కారానికి మరో మార్గం లేదని కార్యకర్తలు వారికి వివరించారు. మొక్కుబడిగా ఒకటి రెండు రోజులు చేసే నిరసనలు, సమ్మెలకు ప్రభుత్వాలు స్పందించకుండా లేబర్ కోడ్స్ లాంటి మరింత నిరంకుశ చట్టాలు తీసుకువస్తున్న తరుణంలో నిరాశపడి పోరాటాలను విడనాడడం కాకుండా మరింత సమరశీల పోరాటాలకు సిద్ధం కావడమే కార్మికవర్గం ముందున్న మార్గమని కార్యకర్తలు పిలుపునిచ్చారు.
ఫిబ్రవరి 12న సెంట్రల్ ట్రేడ్ యూనియన్లు పిలుపిచ్చిన ఒకరోజు సమ్మెను నిరవధిక సమ్మెగా మార్చేలా తమతమ యూనియన్లపై ఒత్తిడి తీసుకురావాలని ఆర్టీసీ ఉద్యోగులకు విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు. ఈ సమ్మెలో పాల్గొనడంతో పాటు సాధ్యమైనన్ని రకాలుగా మద్దతు పలకాలని కార్యకర్తలు విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు.

On January 30, activists of Mazdoor Bigul organised a campaign against the four labour codes introduced by the central government among the RTC employees at Pandit Nehru Vijayawada.
In this context, the activists explained the intention of the Modi government behind introducing these four labour codes. It is to make it a legal right of the capitalists-owners to wilfully exploit the workers and to abolish the few remaining rights of the workers and the employees.
RTC employees expressed the problems they’re facing. One employee expressed that they studied hard to get a Government job, which would give security to their families. Instead, they got a contract job where they’re not getting decent pay or promotions, even though they’ve been working for several years. All they’re getting is an increasing work burden day by day. Another employee said that the governments do not care about unions and struggles any longer. From this he concluded that one should think practically and stay away from unions. Some expressed disappointment with the unions, saying they’re not getting confidence and consciousness that joining unions and fighting against problems would give results.
The activists explained to them that it is true that the situation is most desperate today, but there is no other way to solve our problems except for the employees and workers to fight unitedly and effectively. The activists appealed to them that at a time when governments are not responding to one or two days of protests and strikes anymore, and are bringing more draconian laws like the Labour Codes, the way forward for the working class is to prepare for more aggressive struggles rather than give up the struggles out of frustration.
They appealed to the RTC workers and employees to put pressure on their respective unions to turn the one-day general strike called by the central trade unions on February 12 into an indefinite general strike. Along with participating in the strike, activists also appealed to extend support in all possible ways.
