ఫిబ్రవరి 12న సెంట్రల్ ట్రేడ్ యూనియన్లు పిలుపునిచ్చిన ఒకరోజు సమ్మెలో భాగంగా విశాఖపట్నంలో జరిగిన వివిధ నిరసన ప్రదర్శనల్లో బిగుల్ కార్యకర్తలు పాల్గొన్నారు.
లేబర్ కోడ్ లకు వ్యతిరేకంగా సమ్మె చేస్తున్న హిందుస్తాన్ షిప్ యార్డ్, హిందుస్తాన్ పెట్రోలియం రిఫైనరీ, ఎల్ఐసీ, బీఎస్ఎన్ఎల్ సంస్థల కార్మికులు, ఉద్యోగులను కలిసి బిగుల్ కార్యకర్తలు వారి పోరాటానికి సంఘీభావం ప్రకటించారు. అనంతరం నగరంలో జరిగిన కార్మికుల ప్రదర్శనలో పాల్గొని కరపత్రాలు పంచారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా షిప్ యార్డ్, హెచ్ పీసీఎల్, ఎల్ఐసీ ఉద్యోగులు నిర్వహించి నిరసన కార్యక్రమాల్లో ప్రసంగిస్తూ, లేబర్ కోడ్ లకి వ్యతిరేకంగా దేశంలోని కార్మికులంతా తక్షణమే నిరవధిక సమ్మె వైపు కదలాలని విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు. కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం తీసుకొచ్చిన నాలుగు లేబర్ కోడ్ లు దేశంలోని కార్మికులు, ఉద్యోగులపై జరుగుతున్న అతిపెద్ద దాడి. అలాంటి దాడికి వ్యతిరేకంగా కార్మికులు, ఉద్యోగులు కూడా తమ వద్ద ఉన్న అత్యంత శక్తివంతమైన ఆయుధాన్ని ప్రయోగించడమే సరైన ప్రతిస్పందన అన్నారు. అంతే కాక, గత ముప్పై సంవత్సరాలుగా చేసిన ఒకట్రెండు రోజుల సమ్మెలు ప్రైవేటీకరణను, కాంట్రాక్టీకరణను ఆపడంలో విఫలమయ్యాయి. విఫలమవుతున్నాయి అని తెలిసిన ఎత్తుగడాలనే మళ్ళీ ప్రయోగించి, ఈసారి విజయం సాధిస్తామని ఆశించడం సరికాదన్నారు.ఎన్నో త్యాగాల ఫలితంగా సాధించుకున్న ఎనిమిది గంటల పనిదినంతో సహా అనేక హక్కులను కాలరాస్తున్న లేబర్ కోడ్ లు, మన పూర్వీకుల వారసత్వాన్నే కాక, భవిష్యత్తు తరాల జీవితాలను కూడా నాశనం చేస్తాయని బిగుల్ కార్యకర్తలు వివరించారు. అలాంటి లేబర్ కోడ్ లను ఖచ్చితంగా వెనక్కి తీసుకునేలా చేయడం ఈరోజు భారత కార్మికవర్గంపై ఉన్న చారిత్రక బాధ్యత అని వివరించారు. అందుకే లేబర్ కోడ్ ల అమలును అడ్డుకుని తీరాలన్నారు. అయితే, మోదీ ప్రభుత్వం ఏప్రిల్ ఒకటి నుండి లేబర్ కోడ్ లను అమలు చేయాలనే పట్టుదలతో ఉందని, వారి మేడలు వంచి లేబర్ కోడ్ లను వెనక్కి తీసుకునేలా చేయడానికి నిరవధిక సమ్మె ఒక్కటే మార్గమని వివరించారు.
కార్మికుల శ్రమశక్తిని మరింత పిండి పెట్టుబడిదారుల లాభాలు పెంచేందుకే ఈ నాలుగు లేబర్ కోడ్ లు తెచ్చారు. నిరవధిక సమ్మె ద్వారా ఆ లాభాలకు గండి కొట్టడం ద్వారానే వాటిని వెనక్కి కొట్టగలమని బిగుల్ కార్యకర్తలు అన్నారు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో తక్షణమే నిరవధిక సమ్మె వైపు కదలాలని కార్మికులకు, ఉద్యోగులకు, ట్రేడ్ యూనియన్ల నాయకత్వానికి విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు.
అనంతరం జరిగిన కార్మిక-ఉద్యోగ ప్రదర్శనలో పాల్గొని నిరవధిక సమ్మె కోసం కదలాలని విజ్ఞప్తి చేస్తూ అచ్చువేసిన కరపత్రాన్ని పంచుతూ పై విషయాలన్నీ వివరించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా బిగుల్ కార్యకర్తలు కలిసిన అనేక మంది కార్మికులు ఈ విషయంతో అంగీకరించారు, నిరవధిక సమ్మె వైపు కదలడం అవసరమన్నారు. భవిష్యత్తులో ఈ దిశగా జరిగే అన్ని ప్రయత్నాలకూ బిగుల్ సభ్యులు శక్తివంచన లేకుండా తోడ్పాటునందిస్తారు.

As part of the one-day strike called by the Central Trade Unions on February 12, Bigul activists participated in various protest demonstrations held in Visakhapatnam.
Bigul activists met the striking workers and employees of Hindustan Shipyard, Hindustan Petroleum Refinery, LIC, and BSNL, expressing solidarity with their struggle against the central government’s new four labour codes. Later, they took part in the workers’ rally held in the city and distributed pamphlets.
Speaking at protest demonstrations organized by employees of the Shipyard, HPCL, and LIC, Bigul activists appealed that workers across the country must immediately move towards an indefinite strike against these labour codes. They stated that the four Labour Codes brought by the central government constitute the biggest attack on the workers and employees of the country. In response to such an unprecedented attack, workers and employees must deploy the most powerful weapon at their disposal, they said. They also pointed out that the one- or two-day strikes carried out over the past thirty years have failed to stop privatization and contractualization. It is incorrect, they argued, to once again use tactics that are known to have failed and hope that this time they will succeed.
Bigul activists explained that the Labour Codes, which trample upon many hard-won rights including the eight-hour workday achieved through great sacrifices, will destroy not only the legacy of our predecessors but also the lives of future generations. They stated that ensuring the complete withdrawal of these Labour Codes is today a historic responsibility of the Indian working class. Therefore, they asserted that the implementation of the Labour Codes must be stopped at all costs. However, they noted that the Modi government is determined to implement the Labour Codes from April 1, and that only an indefinite strike can force the government to bend and withdraw them.
They further stated that the four Labour Codes were introduced solely to intensify the exploitation of workers’ labour power and increase the profits of capitalists. Only by blocking those profits through an indefinite strike can the Labour Codes be pushed back, they said. In this context, they appealed to workers, employees, and trade union leadership to move towards an indefinite strike immediately.
During the subsequent workers’ and employees’ rally, they distributed pamphlets explaining all these points and urging participants to get ready for an indefinite strike. Many workers who interacted with the Bigul activists agreed with this perspective and said that moving toward an indefinite strike is necessary. Bigul members pledge to extend full support to all future efforts in this direction.
